You'll be so rewarded when you get up for our Early Bird Tour. There's something very special about the early morning in a city – those moments when it's still lovely and quiet before the hustle and bustle of the day starts. The early bird does catch the worm after all! This is the perfect tour for locals and visitors who like to start their day with a good walk and enjoy the peace and quiet that exists in the morning. We welcome dog walkers and there will be plenty of opportunities to have a good chat along the way.
We'll begin at the perfect vantage point to see the city waking up beneath us, on top of an extinct volcano. We'll feel like we have the city to ourselves as we hear the birdsong and are able to enjoy some of Edinburgh's most beautiful places free of any crowds. Our route avoids cars as much as possible, making the most of Edinburgh’s green spaces and their sense of peace. There's no better time to take photos either as there are so few people around, so join us for a beautiful morning walk through Edinburgh and take photos to share with your friends and family showing Edinburgh at its best. Your guide has lived in the city for 30 years and will be able to give you brilliant insider tips on the city too.
We will show you the best the city has to offer on this 2 to 2.5-hour early morning walking tour. As well as having the opportunity to take some great photos, you’ll learn some fascinating things about Edinburgh. We’ll end our walk at a great café that is particularly popular with locals and as you’ll have done a good walk, you can reward yourself with a yummy breakfast. A delicious tea or coffee is on us. The café is dog friendly too.
